'Trak Suits

Designed for comfort, from the railway to the runway

Amtrak lets you ride in style - now, in more ways than one. With the launch of our all-new premium ride Acela nouvelle génération and fashion excitement in the air, we partnered with students from New York School of Design to create something just as iconic and comfortable as our trains: Amtrak 'Trak Suits.

Going Fashion Forward

As we look for ways to Retrain Travel , we set out to reimagine the classic track suit the way we've done with the rail. What do trains and track suits have in common? They're comfortable, convenient and timeless, but they can also feel fresh again if you just use a little imagination. Enter seven talented student designers who competed to create the winning 'Trak Suit.

Ready, Set, Design

Our budding designers were tasked with using the sleek, innovative details of the NextGen Acela as inspiration for their ‘Trak Suit designs in two categories: Ready-To-Wear (where fashion meets function) and Couture (high-end and wildly creative). They pitched their designs in person to a group of judges (including high-ranking Amtrak employees).

The Student Showcase

To crown our winners, we held a student fashion showcase on Sept. 2 at the school (just in time for Fashion Week in New York). Our panel evaluated each design based on innovation, wearability, thoughtful materials and on-point branding. And most importantly, did it convey the premium comfort and bold spirit of the NextGen Acela experience?

The Ready-To-Wear Winner Is...

Anastasiia Lukinskaia

For first place in the ready-to-wear category, we chose Anastasiia Lukinskaia's 'Trak Suit for its unique touches of innovation. The look is elevated but comfortable like NextGen Acela with excellent use of our brand colors.

The Couture Winner Is...

Sedef Biricik

We chose Sedef Biricik's 'Trak Suit as our winning couture look for its sleek, modern design with subtle but strong brand alignment. Chic but comfortable, it matches the NextGen Acela promise and what we all crave in travel wear.

Six designers were hand selected by the school to participate in this competition based on their skills and drive. We were inspired by the way they transformed their unique designs into runway-ready track suits for Amtrak.
